Tree Surgery Services Across Leicester & Leicestershire

We offer a full range of tree surgery services, hedge maintenance and planting work throughout Leicester and the wider Leicestershire area. Select a service below to learn more about how we can help.

Stump Grinding

Stump grinding Leicestershire

Stump grinding removes the remaining base of a felled tree, allowing the area to be safely reused and preventing unwanted regrowth. The stump is mechanically ground down below soil level, leaving the ground tidy and ready for replanting, turfing or landscaping. This method avoids the mess and disruption of full stump excavation while still eliminating the trip hazards and decay issues associated with old stumps. All work is carried out cleanly and efficiently, with minimal impact on the surrounding area.

Crown Pruning

tree pruning leicestershire

Crown pruning involves selectively removing branches to improve light penetration, balance and the long‑term structure of your tree. The process reduces weight on heavy limbs, encourages healthy growth and helps maintain a safe, well‑shaped canopy. It’s an effective way to manage size, improve airflow and reduce the risk of storm damage. All work is carried out with care to preserve the tree’s natural form and overall health.

Tree Pollarding

Tree pollarding leicestershire

Tree pollarding is a controlled pruning method used to manage the size, shape and regrowth of certain species. By cutting back the canopy on a regular cycle, the tree develops a stable framework that remains compact and manageable over time. This approach is ideal for trees in confined spaces, near buildings or where height needs to be safely controlled. When carried out correctly, pollarding supports healthy regrowth and maintains the tree’s long‑term structure and safety.

Tree Coppicing

Tree coppicing Leicestershire

Tree coppicing involves cutting certain species back to the stool to encourage strong, healthy new shoots. This traditional method is ideal for managing woodland areas, controlling growth and promoting long‑term regeneration. Regular coppice cycles help maintain biodiversity, improve habitat structure and produce consistent, sustainable regrowth. When carried out correctly, it keeps trees vigorous while supporting the natural character of the landscape.

TPO/Conservation Advice

TPO/Conservation Leicestershire

Trees protected by a TPO or located within a conservation area require careful handling and the correct permissions before any work can take place. We provide clear, practical guidance to help you understand what is allowed, what needs approval and how to stay fully compliant with local regulations. This includes assessing the tree, preparing supporting information and advising on the most appropriate course of action. The aim is to ensure your trees are managed safely, legally and in a way that respects both their value and the character of the surrounding area.

Tree Removal

Tree removal leicestershire

Tree removal is sometimes the safest and most practical option when a tree is dead, diseased, storm‑damaged or growing in an unsuitable location. The process involves carefully dismantling the tree in controlled sections to protect nearby structures, gardens and boundaries. Every removal is planned with safety as the priority, using the appropriate rigging techniques and equipment for the site. Once complete, the area is left clean and tidy, with options for stump grinding if you want the space fully cleared for future use.

Hedge Cutting

Hedge cutting Leicestershire

Regular hedge cutting keeps your boundaries neat, healthy and well‑shaped throughout the year. The process involves trimming back new growth, managing height and width, and encouraging dense, even foliage. Well‑maintained hedges not only look smart but also improve privacy, light levels and overall garden structure. All work is carried out with care to protect wildlife, maintain clean lines and support strong, consistent regrowth.

Tree Planting

Tree planting Leicestershire

Tree planting is about choosing the right species for the location and giving it the best possible start. We assess soil conditions, spacing, light levels and long‑term growth to ensure each tree is well‑suited to its environment. Planting is carried out with care, using proper techniques to support strong root establishment and healthy early development. Whether you’re adding a single feature tree or planning multiple plantings, the aim is to create long‑lasting, resilient growth that enhances your garden or landscape.
